Girveda Vatika
Introduction
Girveda Vatika: Where Gir’s Wisdom Grows
Nestled in the soil of Gir – older than the Himalayas – lies Girveda Vatika, our living sanctuary of Ayurveda, cow-based natural farming, and indigenous heritage.
The Vatika is not a showcase farm. It is the heart of Girveda’s philosophy - where cows, farmers, and plants live in rhythm, where healing herbs are nurtured, and where ancient farming wisdom continues to thrive.
Here, soil is alive. Cows are companions. Plants are medicine. This is the Girveda way.
- Location: Near Bhesan Road, Junagadh, Gujarat – on land that breathes with monsoons, seasons, and indigenous knowledge.
- Our Purpose: To preserve endangered plant species, cultivate medicinal plantations, integrate cow-based farming practices, and engage communities in Ayurveda’s living wisdom.

1. Philosophy & Eco-Agricultural Foundation
Girveda Vatika is founded on cow-based natural farming (CBNF), a time-honoured tradition where soil is nourished by the cow (its dung, urine, etc.), seeds are treated naturally, and the cycles of nature guide our work. This farming wisdom sustains biodiversity, enriches the land, and imbues our produce with vitality that transcends mere nutrition.
Here we steward the land: keeping soil microbes alive, respecting seasonal rhythms, avoiding synthetic inputs, and placing the cow, the earth, and the farmer at the centre of life.
Our farming practices follow the Vedic way:
- Jeevamrut – cow-based bio-input to enrich soil microbes.
- Bijamrut – natural seed treatment for healthy germination.
- Mulching & seasonal cropping – keeping the soil nourished and aligned with cycles of nature.
This is agriculture not for profit, but for purity, balance, and sustainability.

2. Preserving Indigenous Plant Species
At the Vatika, we are custodians of biodiversity. Many indigenous and medicinal plants that have been part of Gir’s memory for centuries grow here, preserved in their natural cycles.
Some are well-known like Tulsi, Neem, Aloe Vera, and Ashwagandha.
Others are rare or locally remembered through folk remedies and seasonal traditions.
Each plant is a living archive - a reminder that food is memory, and medicine is nature’s rhythm.

3. Ayurvedic Plantations & Their Uses
The Vatika is an Ayurvedic garden where plants are grown not as commodities, but as energies for balance.
- Neem – purifier, healer, protector
- Tulsi – immunity, clarity, sanctity
- Aloe Vera – cooling, restorative
- Ashwagandha – strength, vitality
- Haldi (Turmeric) – antiseptic, sattvik, healing spice
These plantations are guided by the seasons, cared for with cow-based practices, and harvested with reverence.

4. From Vatika to Your Home
Girveda Vatika is not separate from our products — it is their source and soul.
A2 Gir Cow Ghee is made from the milk of cows nurtured here. Medicated oils and ghees are infused with herbs grown in the Vatika. Turmeric and Ayurvedic plants are cultivated here before becoming part of your wellness rituals.
Every jar, every bottle, carries the purity of this land, its cows, and its people.
